Mark Juelfs, Fire Chief

Chief Juelfs has been with South Metro Fire since 1998, when he started as a firefighter for the City of South St. Paul. He came to South St. Paul from the East County Line/Maplewood Fire Department, where he served from 1994 to 1998. Chief Juelfs is responsible for the management of the fire department.

Mark Erickson, Chief of Operations

Chief Erickson has been in the fire service since 1993, serving as a paid on call firefighter in St. Bonifacius until joining the South St. Paul Fire Department in 1999. His current responsibilities include oversight of fire suppression and special operations, public information, and information technology. He also serves as a task force leader for Minnesota Task Force 1, and as the US&R manager for the Dakota County Special Operations Team. He is also qualified as a Type 2 public information officer.

 

Terry Johnson, Chief of Prevention & EMS

Chief Johnson is responsible for oversight of the EMS program, as well as all prevention activities, which include public education, inspections, plan review, and fire investigations.

 

Sam Seal, Chief of Training

Chief Seal is responsible for all department training.
